Lies.

Lies.

Throughout our lives we are shaped and molded by our friends and family. They have a lasting affect that can shape our mind and our self. Self is determined by the combination of selves that surround a person on a daily basis. From the childhood friends that we try so hard to hang on to as we journey farther and farther into the real world, to the hated teachers that haunt our mind as we lie awake in our beds at nighttime, we are a product of all those selves.

It is the self that determines the course of actions that are taken. Our actions offer a window into our selves. The actions or reactions toward tragedies, celebrations, disappointments and the occasional lucky break all reflections of our self. Every one of us has a different self, because no one knows the exact same people as someone else.

I believe our self contains our values and beliefs. All of our priorities, goals and aspirations we have for ourselves stem directly from the self. Our reactions are also a window into our self. In my opinion, self is a metaphorical jigsaw-puzzle. It is filled with different pieces of others selves that we have interacted with throughout our life, that combine to make one big picture, our self. I have taken pieces of many people who I have encountered throughout my life.

We are all influenced by others.

Some are our heroes, some are our parents, and some are both. We are shown how to act, and how to react. The people in our childhood plant the seeds of our beliefs and values, hoping that they will grow into a healthy and complete self.

We are also vulnerable to the detrimental pieces of selves that surround us daily. An abundance of these pieces can lead to the formation of an adequate self. A picture with missing pieces and broken edges. The self is a jigsaw-puzzle, a combination of different selves that form into a bigger picture. Some pieces will be lost, others will be found, but in the end a picture is always produced. The picture of our values. The picture of our beliefs. The picture, so unique one no else can replicate it. The picture of who we are and what we are. The picture of our selves.

This post was made because I think I unwillingly told a lie today. Something I've not done in a long time. Two different stories to two different people.

Which one was true and which one was false? I honestly do not know. Not yet at least. Time will tell I guess, once I think things over.

That will be all this time.

Selamat menyambut ulang tahun kemerdekaan yang ke-51 :)

Poem 02

This is going to sound so emo.
I think I'll just speak in riddles to piss you off :D

Access. I was given access. Through this access, I learned things I probably should not have learned. Irrelevant as it may be at this point of time, I wish I had not looked. For once I realize how much time I've wasted. WE'VE wasted. And things are such now that we will never be able to fully understand or figure out what could have been. How much we could have done. To think of it now is really saddening.

We talk. Yet you did not tell me.
We saw. Yet you did not show me.
We listened. Yet you did not make me hear.

It's too late for pleasantries.
Too late to right the wrongs.
Too late to change the past.
Too late
to apologize.

I personally feel like giving up. The more we talk the more I feel like there's more to this friendship than meets the eye. Emphasis on FRIENDSHIP.

That word should not be used to describe us. We're more than that.

Aren't we?

Weren't we?

"I'm here alone, didn't want to leave
My heart won't move, it's incomplete
Wish there was a way that I can make you understand

How do you expect me
To live alone with just me?
'Cause my world revolves around you
It's so hard for me to breathe."

(How's THAT for emo?)

Jokes from the Malaysian Times

Why did the chicken cross the road?

BARACK OBAMA:
The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a CHANGE! The chicken wanted CHANGE!

JOHN MC CAIN:
My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON:
When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely qualified to ensure -- right from Day One! -- that every chicken in this country gets the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.......

GEORGE W. BUSH:
We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

DR SEUSS:
Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

GRANDPA:
In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

ARISTOTLE:
It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

JOHN LENNON:
Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.

BILL GATES:
I have just released eChicken2007, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your check book.
Internet Explorer is an integral part of the Chicken. This new platform is much more stable and will never cra...#@&&^(C%
.......... reboot.

ALBERT EINSTEIN:
Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?

BILL CLINTON:
I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken?

ALGORE:
I invented the chicken!

COLONEL SANDERS:
Did I miss one?

DICK CHENEY:
Where's my gun?

Enjoy. ;)

Gossip 01

GET THIS.

Harry Potter's movie studio, Warner Bros. is suing an Indian studio over a film whose title it believes is too close to that of its hugely profitable Harry Potter flicks.

The Indian company, Mirchi Movies, is set to release its film Hari Puttar - A Comedy of Terrors on September 12 in Asia, but a lawsuit just filed by the WB could see it yanked!

Interesting note - the Indian film doesn't have wizards or magic in it at all! Hari Puttar is about a 10-year-old boy who moves to Britain and manages to save his father's top secret computer chip from some burglars.

Is Hari Puttar a common Indian name?

Mirchi Movies' COO said, "We registered the Hari Puttar title in 2005, and it's unfortunate that Warner has chosen to file a case so close to our film's release. In my opinion, I don't think our title has any similarity or links with Harry Potter."

Article from: www.PerezHilton.com

_____________________________________________________________________________

Damn this is so hilarious. Out of ALL the Indian names they could have come up with, they HAD to choose Hari Puttar. Is that even a VALID Indian name? I am so glad I'm called Keshav. Not Kesavan or Kishok or Krishnamurthy or KUMAR or Kanagesh. Yeah you get what I mean, right?

Anyways, let's pray Hari Puttar gets released. I so wanna download it and watch it just for kicks. ;)

Poem 01

I’m sure that I will always be
A lonely number like root three

The three is all that’s good and right,
Why must my three keep out of sight
Beneath the vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a nine

For nine could thwart this evil trick,
with just some quick arithmetic

I know I’ll never see the sun, as 1.7321
Such is my reality, a sad irrationality

When hark! What is this I see,
Another square root of a three

As quietly co-waltzing by,
Together now we multiply
To form a number we prefer,
Rejoicing as an integer

We break free from our mortal bonds
With the wave of magic wands

Our square root signs become unglued
Your love for me has been renewed

This poem is THE SHIT.

To all of those geeks and nerds out there. This is the BEST way to get your love life back on track.

You'll thank me someday :)

The hair cut.

Here's to:

Chittesh; who finally has made contact with the outside world
Maish; who beat the hell out of me in table tennis (though I let her beat me sshhh)
Haneesha; for glaring at me
Mr. Ng; who did not allow me to waste my holidays not learning anything important
Narinder; for showing me this.

Ashereen; for telling me about her thoughts :P

So school starts tomorrow. Then there's a holiday on Tuesday. PATHETIC right?
What I've learned today is to never look forward to anything you are not certain will happen.

I was looking forward to chilling out with the Shankars and THE Balakumar all week long but things never got going.
I wanted to go bowling, watch a million movies and chill out with all the friends I want to chill out with. Never happened.
I wanted THOSE pictures but they never came. >:( Within the week, eh? :P

The age old saying ' Don't count your chicks before they hatch ' is lame. Don't use it. Look at that saying in a different light. How about something like :
" Don't count your bitches before you buy The Playboy Mansion " ?
Makes sense doesn't it? Maybe not :S

ANYWAYS, the point is, if you REALLY want something to happen, PLAN ahead. Do not procrastinate or delay your plans. That really is the only way you're going to accomplish things. I know a number of individuals who prefer the spontaneous approach. It ISN'T always a good thing, nor is having plans and being restricted by them. HOWEVER, to a certain degree, plans NEED to be made. Okay?

Okay :)

Besides, I don't have to go THAT far if I want to play anyways ;)

Look into it folks. It's a sport worth learning. JUST KEEP THE BALL WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE TABLE :D

Fret.

Do Not Fret

In light of recent events, I've taken it within myself to write a little about the often unwanted and metaphorically evil term, fret.

People often face things they'd rather not encounter or experience at any given time. Alternately, people face things they want to encounter yet fear its repercussions and consequences. Why?

We should not fear the uncertain, the unconfirmed. Things happen. Shit happens. It ALWAYS does. It all depends on whether you're strong enough to face it. You're probably not and I hope these words change that mental view of yours.

Say the things you want to say. Be not afraid of being decried. Those who truly understand and admire you will surely understand, regardless of how non-sensible or ridiculous it seems. Release your hearts contents for it shall set you free. This freedom I speak of is not the freedom obtained from completing examinations or being released from captivity. This freedom I speak of is freedom of the soul. Of the mind. Forever will the thoughts you fail to express be stuck in your head and meddle with your every decision.

Do the things you want to do. Be not afraid of how pathetic the public deems you. Yet again, the people who truly care will understand. Is that not what really matters? If people fail to understand you, screw them. NOBODY but yourself should be allowed to determine whether your actions are gratuitous or not. Disregard insular people who are insatiable with your actions. There's so much more you can do with your life other than to consider what other people may think of you. Seriously,

SCREAM when you want to scream.

Kick someone whenever you feel the need to.

Heck, give 'em the finger if you feel he or she is being a dumbass.

Honestly, do NOT hold back. Merely choose the correct time and place.

Do what I say, and I assure you...

Tomorrow you will find yourself feeling a stronger sense of peace than you have experienced in a long time. Welcome it with outstretched arms…welcome it because it comes not just from any part of you but a part that not only gives peace but GREAT peace.

The Umpteenth Excursion 01

Before I start, breaking news says that Avril Lavigne's Malaysia Concert has been canceled because it has been deemed "TOO SEXY".

Moving on,

The Umpteenth Excursion to Penang Hill

So with the recent arrival of the cousin, Harish, things have indeed been a little less dull here in good ol' 49.

Another hike up Penang Hill was planned. It was as good as any other :D

So damn I slept at 2.30 after watching Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay (WHICH IS ABSOF*CKINGLUTELY AWESOME btw) (for reasons you should know). Anyways, I was forced awake at 6.30 . F*cking alarms LOL. I was so so dizzy and blur and sleepy and all when we were dropped at Moon Gate.

Moon Gate.

The hike up took us approximately 3 hours and 24 minutes which isn't THAT BAD, considering we stopped quite a bit to talk to people. We met this dude at station 84 (halfway point of hike trail) and he was telling my brother and cousin about how the Malaysian Government is full of shit. He was an atheist too. What are the odds, right?

So the following are a combination of random shots my cousin, brother and I took on the way up.

At the top. IT WAS SO DESERTED. I'm sure many of you know that the Funicular Train has been closed indefinitely due to faulty wires and all, so there's no way up to the top except by hiking and by taking a 90 ringgit for a two-way trip up and down via jeep. Effed up, no? So yes, it was completely deserted except for random ninjas (if you catch my drift) roaming around. Hardly any stalls were open. Seriously people, do NOT go up there unless you want to hike for fun. There's NOTHING to do up there at the moment.

With the lack of people, the three of us adjourned to the temple area. We took NAPS, which was SO relaxing.

Me. Just Do It yo.

Seriously Just Do It.

Since there wasn't much to do at the top, we hiked down. But wait, there's more. We didn't hike down the trail we came up with. We walked down the TAR road (a.k.a. the jeep trail). It was so so so so so so SO tiring lah. We had to walk backwards for some physics related reason which my brother would be able to explain much better than I would. For further information please contact him at you_know_the_name@hotmail.com . The jeep trail allowed us to reach the bottom faster, around 2 hours. The jeep trail took us out to the Quarry Park area. (the place where the World Music Festival was held)

From there, we took a cab to Gurney Plaza. Watched The Clone Wars. It isn't AS BAD as reviews say it is. Entertaining, but I'd consider it no more than a guilty pleasure at this point. To people who don't know, The Clone Wars showing in theaters right now is apparently the first three episodes of the 3D Cartoon premiering on Cartoon Network soon. Hence, the graphics aren't that good.

After the movie, we WALKED to a bus station because our faith in the T304 line that stops outside Gurney Plaza was non-existent. Took a bus to Komtar and bus home from there.

'Twas a good day. Home now :)

Did you know?

When people say 'i.e' or 'e.g' in sentences.. what do these things stand for??

I for one thought 'i.e.' stood for In Example and 'e.g.' stood for Eggxample( as in a way of saying example ) (crazy right?) (lol)

Well if you were wondering...

I.e. stands for 'id est' (Latin for "that is")

and

E.g. stands for 'exempli gratia' (Latin for "for example")

Interesting, no? Now go brag to your friends or folks. I'm sure they don't know what they stand for.

Good day.

George W. Bush 01

So Yenoh wanted me to elaborate on yesterday's stupidity post? Very well.

I believe Bush's stupidity has been clearly portrayed in this ridiculous war with Iraq that's lasted just over 5 years now. People say Bush was successful.

A total of 4000+ American soldiers have died in Iraq since the start of the war. And at what cost?

Look at Iraq's condition now. The capture of Saddam Hussein proved useful, yes. But in my opinion and I'm sure others as well would agree that he should not have been hung. His departure has for the most part left Iraq in US control. America won the battles but lost the war. Iraq was invaded at too early a stage. Some countries aren't ready for a democracy and it should not be forced upon them. It merely causes more chaos. Case and point, Iraq.

To be honest I really do not follow the news as much as my brother or parents do. However, I distinctly remember reading somewhere about the G8 summit held back in 2006. When he spoke to the Chinese president, all he could say was that "China is a big country". Telling the Chinese president that China's a big country isn't a sign of social ineptness. It's a sign of mental midgetry. Sigh.

George W. Bush is most probably a moron. Most of us will never know, because most of us will never meet him. But if he isn't a moron, the way he acted during the 2006 G8 Summit didn't really help me change my mind.

But damn. Maybe since it's been 2 years, he MAY have actually grown smarter?

This was taken today. In China. He was supporting Michael Phelps. HE CAN'T EVEN HOLD THE AMERICAN FLAG RIGHT.

So has he grown smarter? Not a single bit, in my opinion.

But hey, maybe he'll come visit Penang once his term's over like Tony Blaire did recently. Maybe I'll knock some sense into him. (or attempt to, at least)

Long live George W. Bush, the BEST American President ever.

I've been watching Gossip Girl a lot lately and it's sadly addictive. If you're really bored and have nothing else to watch, watch it.

Chittesh wore his new UBER COOL uniform thing to school today! It looks damn awesome.

Thanks for the vid, Neoh.

Ok so things didn't work out THAT well. Pfft.

Apart from that, nothing really interesting. Oh wait there was that Muar Chee stall outside our school that was charging RM1.50 for a SMALL package of Muar Chee and a SMALL keropok packet thing for RM1. Isn't that just sad? The dude probably made RM50 just like that. So many students were buying from him. Lucky b*stardo.

I did not like today.

I did not like today.

No, really. There's just something about today that really made me feel off.

I don't know if it was the fact I failed my Biology? No. Not that. I expected that to happen.

Maybe it was the fact that hardly any teachers came in to class and going to school today seemed pointless. Today more than previous days. Can't be that either.

Maybe the lack of conversation between my friends and I at school today. Which very rarely happens. Maybe?

Or that realization of how alone I've been for quite a while now. I used to hang out with people almost every other day. What's happened, Keshav?

Still, something just doesn't fit. I can't quite place a finger on what I'm feeling at this point of time.

Just a recap then on what's happened/been going through my head the passed couple of days :

1) I was away at a scout camp.
2) I've started watching Gossip Girl.
3) I'm still contemplating making that essay public.
4) I've got to invite people over to my house to hang these coming holidays.
5) I've a newsletter I haven't done yet. Damn. That just came to the head.

Anyways, for the most part, I've always considered myself a maverick and meticulous person and I've decided that instead of a morose blog post, I'll cut things short today.

Sorry for the lack of jubilant highlights and all this time. Let's just say today will not be considered the zenith of my life.

Just one of those days, I guess?

OH. And watch this movie called The Rock. It's really good. Old, relatively. But good.

Otter.

Dolphin.

Venture's formation. I know it looks like nothing great in this picture, but you should have seen how we formed it. =D

Oh. and then Beaver drilled. But you see.. the thing about Beaver Patrol...

We love toying with it's Patrol Leader...

Even if it means making him jump like soopahman =)

During intervals, I took pictures. (WOW)

Poser.

Checking out of the drilling competition...

SOME of the patrols made stuff that impressed me. LOOK MORE PICTURES! (WOW)

It's EYE (yes, it has one eye glows(oooooh))

Made out of chopsticks.

Very cool flag which SHOULD HAVE WON BEST FLAG.

Well that was day one. Very fun indeed. During the night, we ventures built our gateway and table out of bamboo (oooooooh) and talked and laughed and I really think that was THE closest I've ever been with them. So so cool. ANYWAYS,

WE slept off soon after, while the juniors kept building (heeheeeheeeeee) (I'm lame sue me)

Day Two.

IRON CHEF COMPETITION. Where I ze chef and ze assistant of mine ze Chuan Zeik Min is makingz ze foodz for ze peoplez of ze patrolz of mine. Well, not really. We all pitched in. Teik (not Zeik, Zeik is how a French would say Teik) Min brought a gas stove so that made our cooking a lot easier.

You want to see a picture right? (WOW)

WOW.

Not WOW.

Campsite inspection next.

Poor Beaver Patrol.

As for Venture Patrol...

OUR TABLE ROCKED =D (until Benjamin pfft) (inside joke)

Introducing the Y.M.C.A (the name of our gateway). It rocked out. It was made of steel for all I care. It was awesome. Btw, we named it Y.M.C.A. because we were singing that song when we built it. That gateway also served as a very good look out point during sunset and when we were bored, we would just sit atop that thing and talk and eat biscuits OMG I MISS THAT GATEWAY.

Ther Hoei. He's AWESOME. He knows stuff that nobody else in the troop knew. He was the troop leader in my troop for the year 1998. Having him come and visit during the camp was beneficial to say the least. Thanks, Ther.

CABARAN(torture) SESSION.
This is where we test the abilities of junior scouts. And well the only thing we ventures look forward to is the mud-crawl. Pictures again! (only of the aftermath because some of the pictures are really embarrassing for the juniors) (WOW)

Otter.

Beaver.(sorry Malcolm)(not)

Dolphin.

Campnight.

It was alright I guess. I learned this uber cool and simple game. We sang songs, and I acted as Black Santa (insider's knowledge only). I don't have a picture of me as BS yet, hopefully soon.

Group Picture. Sorry for the lack of light.

After campnight, most of the juniors slept off. Paul and I sneaked off to McD =D . I fell asleep within 10 minutes after arrival. So did Paul. This was at 11.30 PM. We got up at 1.30 AM. And walked back to school. And fell asleep instantly again!

Day Three, 6.30 AM.

Got up and freshened up and everything. Nothing really eventful happened in the morning. it RAINED after we cleared up all our stuff. Really good timing, God.

Trophies were handed out after the rain subsided. I'm not going to tell you which patrol won what. (hee hee heeeee) (I'm lame sue me again b*tch)

The trophies.

And that was that. Camp was dismissed and most left. Some went to McD for lunch and left after that. The End.

Now, I'm SURE you're all wondering what happened to the Y.M.C.A. It stood for so long, it managed to withstand the weight of 7 people.

Seven People, from left seated(clockwise): Zeik Min, Siew Chai, Chong, I, Cheang Huat, Edwin and Paul.

Alas, we had to clear the place up, and the Y.M.C.A. was brought down.

Too bad we didn't tell Cheang Huat about that first ;)

R.I.P. Y.M.C.A

"A building is a symbol, as is the act of destroying it. Symbols are given power by people. A symbol, in and of itself is powerless, but with enough people behind it, blowing up a building can change the world as we know it."
